LABOUR PARTY
In the course of campaigning in the Waimarino I would like to thank the local people for the open friendliness, courtesy and assistance given to me. An over-riding theme came through of people's concern about our basic way of life, the personal attacks on all people but particularly attacks on Labour Party MP's by the current, but soon to be former Prime Minister. And a feeling of close knit communities in both Ohakune and Raetihi, how people invariably rally round others who have met with misfortune or tragedy. How the whole community gets behind projects like the gymnasium in Ohakune and
the day room at the Waimarino Hospital. It is an example. of accomplishment arising from working together and the incoming Labour Government will use this principle of community spirit that does exist in Kiwi's to get New Zealand and New Zealanders back to the prosperity we all know can be achieved. Thankyou once again and I sincerely look forward to representing you in Parliament as a member of the Labour Government. Taking this seat from the incumbent National MP will be hard enough but it will be nothing compared to the work I will put in on behalf of the people in the King Country once elected. Jim Simons Labour Candidate King Country P.S. No Government or MP can control the weather but my thoughts are with all those who have put their labour and savings into winter ventures and are anxiously awaiting snow. Good luck to you all.
