Senior soccer team has good win
After beating Waimarino United 7-2 earlier in the season, Taihape travelled to Ohakune on Sunday 24 June, fully expecting another victory. It was not to be as Waimarino fielded a far stronger side at home than they were able to away and fully deserved their 3-1 win. In a sometimes vicious game, compounded by the referee not being the official one. Waimarino took control from the outset and were the frist to score. That was the score at halftirne, then in the second half they added two
more before Taihape were able to score a eonsolation goal. A disturbing" aspect of Waimarino 's play continued to be their lack of discipline on the field, all players seem to suffer from this, none more so than the talented Gary McMillan who really does not need to resort to the type of actions he was guilty of. Someone will be sent off soon which would really be a shame. Scorers: Waimarino J. Dennison (2), A. Wallace (1). Taihape M. Phillips.
