PASSING MOURNED BY MANY
A much loved and respected old identity, 46year old Mr Laurie Turanga from Papakai Pa, Tongariro, passed away on Sunday 24 June. Apart from rugby and family interests Laurie was lead guitarist of the National Park Country Music Cluh. "On behalf of the NPCMZ I would like to express our sincere condolences to Laurie's family," said Club President Mrs Lorraine For&bes. "His association with our club was always on a happy note, and his willingness to share with us all his great knowledge of music was highly valued. His stature as a man like the mighty totara was a pillar of strength. His wisdom and devot'on to music and to our Country Music Club was an inspiration to us all." His gently and fatherly leadership was highly valued by our members. No club could ask for more. The passing of this true country gentleman has deeply saddened us all, said Club President Mrs Lorraine Forbes.
