Can an 11-year old boy catch a 6½lb, 24" trout? Apparently so. Glenn Irwin, age 11, of Raetihi caught the monster hen in Manganui-a-Te-Ao River in the Ruatiti Domain last month. The brown trout was lured by a black to by on what Glenn Irwin called a leisurely fishing trip. After a five minute struggle, the boy reeled it in. It's only his second year of fishing and only the sixth fish he's caught.
