Last Friday and Saturday week the well-known Californian group, The Coasters — who have been touring New Zealand for several months — paid their second visit to the Waimarino when they performed at the Ohakune Hotel. After their first visit two months ago when they played to a packed house with standing room only, on these two latter occasions the attendance was relatively poor due to insufficient time to advertise their decision to visit the Waimarino following a double booking cancellation in Wanganui. However, the 60 or so people that did turn up on both nights obviously enjoyed the extra 'elbow room' on the dance floor.
