Among the 40-50 first night diners at the new 'Splinters' restaurant (formerly the Village Steakhouse) in Ohakune Junction last Tuesday night were Hira Parata, Graham Fredericksen (foreground), Bill Peach and Peter Jones, all of Raetihi. 'Splinters' is under the direction of John de Silva who also operates 'Truffles' restaurant in Taupo. He has appointed manager Ed Halson to provide customer service and chef Neville Clark to cater for customer's palates.
