Ohakune Play Group revived

The Ohakune Voluntary Play Group was launched last Wednesday week when 12 pre-school children and their parents turned up at the Ruapehu Lions Den in Arawa Street.

The children enjoyed a varied programme of activities including painting, collage, music, storytime and just playing. According to the Play Group's organiser, Mrs

Kura Whiu, there hasn't been this sort .of facility in Ohakune since the St. Joseph's Convent School closed their Play Group several years ago. Mrs Whiu said that more pre-school children and mothers would be welcome to attend the weekly sessions which are held in the Lions Den every Wednesday morning between 9.30 and 11.30.
