Walter Cassidy of Ohakune, continues to impress spectators around the area with his forceful running and keenness to score tries. On Saturday 22 May, he showed against Utiku Old Boys, that a call from the reserves of the Wanganui rep side to the full side, cannot be far away. Every time he touches the ball, a try looks on and he now remains top try scorer in the Wanganui first and second divisions. In this clash between the top two teams in the second division, Ohakune showed that they h^ve the better finishing by winning 17-4 after being held to 4-0 at half time. Bruce Cranston also continues to impress in the forwards whilst the Ohakune backs also looked good. Andrew Donald's quick fire service was missed although ex-Wanganui Colts halfback, Whetu Mareikura understudied tidily. Raetihi's season, in contrast to Ohakune, goes from bad to worse, with another unimpressive performance this time against Technical College Old Boys, Raetihi going down 1 1-3. David Kinnaird once again was the star of the Raetihi backs. Scorers: Ohakune, W. Cassidy (2) and L. Harding tries, Harding penalty goal and R. Brown conversion. Utiku Old Boys P. Kavanagh try. T.C.O.B. A. Gill and V. Ratusai tries, J. Wallace penalty goal. Raetihi, R. Hall dropped goal. Other results Third division: Waiouru Red 31, Marist 3rds 9, Queen Alexandra (Waiouru) 12, T.C.O.B. 2nds 6, Kaierau 2nds 21, Ohakune 2nds 4.
