Floral Art Society celebrates
The Waimarino Floral Art Society at Raetihi, recently celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary to confer life membership on Mrs Jean Tod, a foundation committee member and only "the second to receive the honour, Mrs E. Bowater being the first. Formed on 20 April 1959, the Society elected as their first President, Mrs Irene Donnelly. She has been followed by twelve Presidents, the current one being
Mrs Carolyn McCoubrie. Edna Snowdon and Anne Kent from the Wanganui Floral Art Society were invited to Raetihi for the celebrations and arranged a demonstration of their art for the gathering. The floral art society in Auckland is one of the oldest in the country. It was first affiliated to the Floral Art Society of New Zealand in 1965 and has been a regular contributor since.
