RUGBY

Walter Cassidy, of Ohakune, starred for Northern Wanganui in their 321 9 victory over Metropolitan Probables recently.

The game which was seen as a trial match for the representative side, featured other local players, Bruce Cranston, Steve Gordon and Lachlan Harding all of whom played well. It was Cassidy's superb solo try that impressed spectators as he had limited room to work in yet was still able to score. He remains top try scorer in the Wanganui first and second division championship matches.
