NETBALL
The netball season began in earnest on Saturday 28 April with the traditional annual knockout tournament for the Fitzpatrick Challenge Cup. Karioi, the winners for the previous three seasons, last year's league winners Raetihi A and Ruapehu College A were expected to dominate the opening day's play so it was not a surprise when the College team finished the day unbeaten to take out the Cup. The league competition begins on Saturday 1 9 May with Ruapehu College 'A' being the obvious favourites after theirfirst impressive opening.
