National Park School Recently the three junior classes travelled on the "Silver Fern" between Owhango and National Park. A special shop day was held and $111.73 was raised. ^ The trip was organised on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon and for many of the children it was their first train trip. National Park Cosmopolitan Club "This is a momentous and historic occasion," qommented Community Councillor, Mr Jim Forbes when recently a chartered bus of about 30-35 former bushmen, loggers and sawmillers were
special guests at a highly successful afternoon tea. Carroll Street Beautification The planting of shrubs on the grassed verges, the resealing of the main street and the channelling, kerbing and footpaths in front of the school entrance, is near completion. Country Music Club A very successful 'Hoedown' was held recently in the community hall with visiting clubs from Wairakei, Wanganui, Waimiha, Kiwi Town and Taumarunui. The star of the day was Benny Koroheke from Castlecliff, Wanganui whose guitar wizardry, drum rolls and songs were enjoyed by all.
