Good response to appeal for mountain staff
Robin Foubister, mountain manager of the Turoa Skifields, has spent the past few days 'wading' through the four hundred applications received for sixty seasonal job vacancies available from 1 July through to Labour Weekend. "The applications have come from all over the North Island" said Mr Foubister. "Most of them are keen skiers who come here for a working holiday.
We are having people come back for the second or third time. A few of them are students and people out of work, but most of them have . good jobs they are prepared to give up in order to come here for the season," added Mr Foubister. A short list of one hundred has been prepared and they will be interviewed over the next few days.
