• The Country Music Club held a belated afternoon tea on Sunday 1 April to celebrate the recent marriage between Jim and Kim Gossman. The President, Mrs Lorraine Forbes, presented a bouquet and commented that "Kim had lassooed our Sheriff and tied ' the knot before any of us knew." In appreciation from members, a wooden shield was also presented to the musicians for 1983: Joe Jacobs, Nick Pakau, Laurie Turanga and M.C. George Bowring. The afternoon concluded with Jim Gossman serenading Kim and all . music club members. The Country Music Club have kept themselves busy recently performing at the Waiouru Desert Fair, the official opening of the Owhango Water Supply, the Wanganui Grand Country Concert, Cameron's Annual Woolshed Knees-Up — Katieke, Mount View, and the Kakahi Rodeo. On Sunday 15 April from 10 to 4pm in the Community Hall five other Country Music Clubs have accepted an invitation to perform at the National Park Club's "Get-Along-Hoedown. " • The Home and School Association are to send a recommendation to the Education Board requesting assistance to purchase library furniture! Attempts to raise money from parents has proven unsuccessful and the Association feels that the furniture is an "absolute necessity." The resealing of the tennis courts has been approved by the Education Board and will be financed by them. ^
