• Home & School Association: The A.G.M. was held on 19th March — sadly, very poorly attended. Apologies received from Mrs M. Barclay, S. Winterburn, C. Ward. Presenti Mesdames L. Raharuhi, L. Pakau, B. Kereopa, M. LynghaugSeator, A. Jacobs, L. Piper, A. Williams, L. PakauBowring. MessrsG. Bowring, J. Jacobs, M. Taituma, K. Murcott, A. Holes, D. Macrae. The chairman, Mr G. Bowring, thanked his committee on a very enjoyable, successful and profitable 12 months. Activities included raffles, bottle drives, $100 club, Country Music Club social, sale of school caps, and recently the sale of plastic products and school sweat shirts. He thanked members for their hard work and loyal support and wished the incoming chairman and committee all the very best for the coming term. The Principal, Mr D. Macrae, also spoke on the highly successful 12 months, with the heating of the school pool and the building of the pool complex being top priority. The appointment of the deputy principal has not yet been named. The school roll stands at 105 pupils. Executive officers elected for their second term: Office chairman, Mr G. Bowring; Secretary, Mrs A. Jacobs; Treasurer, Mrs A. Williams and a Committee consisting of 8 members and 2 helpers. General Business • Mrs M. LynghaugSeator was thanked for the printing of the school logo. — good quality sweatshirts — 45 ordered, 20 sold. • Logo on sweat shirts, caps and school banner designed by 1 1-year old Rainier Raharuhi. • Mr M. Taituma welcomed to new Chateau school bus service. • MrM. Taituma proposed changing the existing bus run to pick up Chateau pupils first and the Lands and Survey children last but was informed he must approach the parents and the department. • A suggestion was made — that Mr A. Holes again organise $100 club to help fund the pool complex but he is endeavouring to organise a class trip to Wellington, and proposes using this idea to fund it. • King Country Electric Power Board — are at present upgrading the existing lines in Ward Street and

part of Carroll Street and also replacing the existing timber poles with concrete poles. Power was disconnected on Tuesday and Wednesday 28 March from 8am to 3pm in order to carry our high tension maintenance. New high tension lines are also being extended up Fishers Road to Mr Maignley's new home. • Community Council Meeting held Monday 27 March at the Buttercup Camp. • A resolution was passed to continue the water and sewerage schemes. • The very small 7% increase in estimates included: $20,420 for channel and kerbing maintenance Carroll Street, $11,409 for administration, $670 — valuation expenses, $32,499. Last year the amount was $30,547. • Discussion held regard^^ ing the water rights fo^ proposed water scheme through the Lands and Survey. • National Park School — The long awaited fifth classroom finally arrived at 2pm Tuesday 27 March thanks to the continued efforts of the National Park School Committee and the assistance of our King Country M.P Mr Jim Bolger and the Minister of Education Mr Merv Wellington. The classroom was transported from Owhango School by the Te Awamutu based firm, Jack House Transit Limited. At present the class requiring this particular classroom are being taught in the schc^Mk library.
