Win should make life a lot easier
Brent Bishop, who farms a 1,500 acre property near Horqpito, will find life a lot easier following his win of a new lice cbntrol applicator in a nationwide competition. The Auto Race, which is being advertised nationally on TV as a competition giveaway, is valued at more than $ 1 800. The competition was run by'the distributors of the Kour-on lice control )ecacide\ Brent went into the Raetihi branch of Dalgety Crown Farmers recently to buy some Decacide and, because he is an inveterate enterer of competitions, he answered all the questions printed on the outside of the container and sent his entry form in. Since he hadn't had much luck with his previous competition entries, he was
both surprised and delighted to learn that he had won one of the 25 prizes that are to be given away during the 4month campaign. The applicator consists of two separate units — a portable metal race which can be adjusted for width and a battery controlled applicator unit (shown) which is attached to the race and delivers a metered amount'of Decacide each time the device is triggered by the passage of an animal through the race. Brent, who has been farming this property for 1 8 months carries 2,300 Perendale ewes and 50 Hereford cows. He is looking forward to using this portable applicator at shearing time on a property that extends from Horopito eastwards towards the Ohakune Mountain Road.
