POLICE SERGEANT ARRIVES
Sergeant Neil Coker arrives in Ohakune this week to take up his new appointment. He also takes up residence in the former Raetihi police house which has been relocated in Ohakune and renovated. Neil Coker, who as sub area supervisor will coordinate policing activities in the Waimarino, has been in the Police for 13 years. After completing his training at Trentham Police College his first tour of duty was in Wellington. He then transferred to Palmerston North
before moving to Wanganui a year ago. Neil, who was born in Auckland, says that he seems to be moving northward again with each move but intends to stay in Ohakune for some years. He is looking forward to working with the Waimarino community and his colleagues in National Park, Raetihi, Ohakune and Waiouru. He will be joined by his wife Chris and young family as soon as the renovated house is furnished.
