The following cases were heard by Judge E.W. Unwin in the Ohakune District Court on Thursday v 23 February. George Maxwell Moses Tamatea, 19, unemployed on Ohakune, was appearing for sentenee having pleaded guilty to 12 offences — five of false pretences, four of using documents to procure pecuniary advantage, two of forgery and one of receiving. He was fined $200 and disqualified from driving for six months. ★ ★ ★ Trevor Murdoch Henare, 17, forestry labourer of Ohakune, was appearing for sentenee on two charges of breaking and entering to which he had earlier pleaded guilty. He was placed on probation for 15 months. He must pay $4 1 7 compensation and his finances placed under control if so directed. On a charge of possession of cannabis he was fined $125. ★ ★ ★ Puke Robert Baker, 23, painter of Waiouru pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to stop for a constable in uniform and driving in a manner that might have been dangerous. He was convicted and remandedi^fc 22 March for sentenee. On a charge of driving without a licence he was fined $40.
