New daylight express bus service

A new north/south daylight express bus service between Auckland and Wellington passes through the Waimarino each day. It was started last month by NZR Road Services using their new airconditioned Volvo coaches with 45 individually-adjusted •clining seats. If you're heading north the buses leave Ohakune at 1.05pm and National Park at 2.20pm to arrive in Auckland at 7.30pm. If you're heading south the buses leave National Park at 2.20pm and Ohakune at 3.05pm to arrive

in Wellington at 7.30pm. And, if you're returning to the Waimarino after visiting Auckland or Wellington, the buses depart at 8.30am daily from both main cities. The route also takes in Raetihi and Waiouru as unscheduled stops.. Passengers wishing to board the buses at either Raetihi or Waiouru are advised to book ahead. All intending passengers who wish to ensure a seat on this new daylight service are advised to make their reservations at least 72 hours ahead.
