Racing with BULLY

Auckland Racing Club is in action on Saturday and they are sure to have their usual strong acceptances. At this time of the year we are starting to see a lot of fresh horses coming back and the thing to do of course is to sort out those ones that are going to perform well first or second time up. It pays to remember too that often good middle-distance or staying horses often run a mighty sprint when starting a new campaign. The Air New Zealand WFA is down for completion on this Saturday and what a fine race this is going to be with Axeman, Commissionaire and McGinty just to name three who are in for their share of the $80,000. At this distance I will stick with McGinty.

At Cambridge Lomas Girl has been impressing track watchers while Dawn March has also been gathering friends for her next few engagements. Down at Levin, Saddleback has continued to record some very stylish track work but of recent times he has been disappointing on race day. However it would be wise to give him another chance when next he steps out. On his day he is very smart. From Awapuni it's congratulations to the Margaret Bull stable for the trifecta they produced at their local course last week. Magnitude, Bronze Valley and Mussella filled the first three places and all being from the same stable. An unusual feat surely. Camille

is still working well and could also salute the judge again shortly. Paddy Busuttin at Foxton has his charges in good order at present and is having his share of success too. Shazaam is in this stable and it was this time last year when he held his form to record some very good races. Nuclear Power has got to have the fire out of the track to show his best and when this happens the Wanganui based horse will pay a divvy. Narrator will probably start at the Gisborne meeting and it is here that he may perform better and more to what his track work has been like. Remember Bully tips them first and you will read it in the Bulletin.
