POLICE FILE

• Sometime on Saturday night ll February thieves broke into the Junction Ski Shop in Ohakune and stole about $500-$600 worth of ski gear, parkas etc. They also removed the electronic till and attempted to open it. The till and most of the gear have been recovered. • During last Monday night thieves again broke

into Reynolds Motors in Raetihi. On the previous occasion about a week earlier, they stole $1000 worth of tools but this time the entire radio consoles of three cars — a Ford Ghia, a Mitsubishi Celeste and a Mazda RX3 — were carefully removed in what police said must have been a fairly leisurely operation.

• Last Tuesday night the Waimarino County yard in Raetihi was broken into. Damage done to a vehicle and equipment stolen (including chainsaws) amounted to about $2000. • On Thursday afternoon, Ohakune constables Marty Sutherland and Brian Wilson, arrested a man for assault and wilful damage in the Raetihi Hotel.
