Busy time for brigade

The first week of February was a busy period for the Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade according to their log-book. It read something like this: Wednesday 1 February, 20.07hrs (8.07pm) Attended fire in stolen car which had been abandoned in Harris Road. (This was reported in last week's Bulletin and a picture of the burnt-out car is pictured above. Thursday 2 February, 19.22 hrs (7.22pm) Attended and

extinguished grass fire in Smiths Road. (Of this fire Ohakune's fire chief, Max Martin, said it was only a small one but he preferred them that way ... "little ones are better," he said.) Friday 3 February, 15.45hrs (3.45pm) Oven fire in house in Tay Street. Friday 3 February, 20.00hrs (8.00pm) Suspected heart attack ... resuscitator called. Saturday 4 February 23.27 hrs (11.27pm) Flash dryer fire at the Winstone Samsung Mill.
