Holiday time ...or is it?
National Park is a divided town ... on provincial anniversary days at least. Situated near the old « provincial boundaries of Auckland and Wellington | over a century ago, some of f National Park's services are «■ administered from the | north, others from the t south. The Post Office at 1 National Park is adminis- P tered from Hamilton and I staff celebrated Auckland anniversary day last Monday I with a holiday. Railways at National I Park is administered from i Wanganui, which is part of 5 Wellington province, and I their staff recognised the K previous Monday (23 Jan- f uary) as provincial anniver- I sary day. Other firms operating I businesses in National Park II — stores, service stations, ■ transport contractors etc — I have the choice of observing I one or the other ... or botk'v , But this depends on wheth| ( their clients or suppliers are I situated in Auckland or I Wellington provinces. For others its "business as I usual" on both days.
