New arrival greets 1984 in Waimarino

The first baby to be born in the Waimarino in 1984 was Kodie Riini who weighed in at 8lbs 3%ozs (3.7kg) at the Waimarino Hospital in Raetihi on Saturday 2I January. He is the son of Jacqueline Albert and August Riini of Ohakune. Other babies have been born to Waimarino families

since the beginning of the New Year but all have been delivered at Wanganui Hospital because Dr Perera of Ohakune was away on annual leave. Jacqueline worked at the Ohakune Hotel until recently and August is employed by the NZ Forest Service. They live in Conway Street.
