Racing with BULLY
The Wellington Racing Club must have suffered a big loss through being forced to race at Otaki. The attendances were not good and the fields were decidedly small a'nd not up to metropolitan standard. However the spelling of the track at Trentham was a wise move and the facilities should be first class for the Wellington Cup meeting. Talking of big cups, I
promised last week to sort somethirig out for the Auckland Cup now that Chimbu has gone off the boil. It may seem a strange choice, but I have a distinct liking now for two lightweights in Little Recruit and Glamour Star. Little Recruit is a very honest horse and runs in or near the lead and this has often been a successful tactic in this big one. Glamour Star from Taranaki has only won one race but is a most promising sort and would not be the least of chances in this. Better known as a horse who can run a very good mile, it would be best to remember that some pretty good milers have won this prestigious event. Kiwi paraded at Feilding
and did a round of the track coming home the last 600 metres in 37 seconds in what was a smart and impressive effort. He will obviously be cherry ripe for the Wellington Cup which is his main target. Saddleback won the main race at Feilding and would be worth a bet in the Manawatu Cup. Our Jetty could be an improver while Sanctify showed that he too will be back in the winner's circle pretty soon. At this is the last edition of the Bulletin before the holiday break. I will take this opportunity of wishing all readers the very best for Christmas and the New Year and to all punters, Happy Punting. Remember Bully tips them first in the Bulletin.
