g^Raetihi's pre-Christmas ^Pnb sale last week saw a yarding of some 4,500 sheep and 80 cattle pass through at good prices Buyers from Taihape, Wanganui and Dannevirke provided competition for the locals in this the first sale in the newiy constructed sheep pens at the saleyards. Lambs sold up to $18.40 for a pen of 300 a/c W McGill. P. Newton sold 23 at $18.00, D.J. Houghton sold 609 at $17-40 and Hammond and Bolstad sold 242 at $17.20. Bennett-Most sold blackfaced hoggets at $15.25, Tom Punch sold wethers at $14.80 and F.G. McNee sold some m/a ews at $10.10. •Cattle prices were firm. E. arrow old 1 7 3yr heifers at $340 and 21 yearling heifers at $350. Mrs N. Wallace sold 4 friesian steers at $355.
