116 New Soldiers for NZ Army
On a cold, wet, windswept parade ground, 1 16 Regular Force Cadets graduated from the Regular Force Cadet School in Waiouru last Wednesday. Most of the cadets had just completed one year at the school; a few had spent two years training at the Cadet School. The parade was reviewed by Colonel F. Rennie, CBE MC after whom the graduating class was named. The music was provided by the Band of the NZ Army. Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major Brian Sweet of Ngaruawahia commanded the parade and under his leadership the cadets executed complicated drill movements, with the expertise that the Regular Force Cadet School has become noted for. More than 750 parents and friends braved the
' elements to watch the graduation parade which also included a prize giving in the Camp Cinema. The 116 graduates have been posted to a wide variety of Corps within the New Zealand Army.
