Borough foreman moves to Napier
Raetihi Borough Council's foreman left last week to take up an appointment with the Napier Borough Council. Being a bigger local authority the Napier appointment. is in fact a promotion — he becomes > Napier City Council overseer — and his future prospects will be enhanced. He was appointed Raetihi Borough foreman in September of last year and came from Taumarunui to fill that position. Of his 15 months in Raetihi Kevin says that he has enjoyed living in the community and has had the
utmost co-operation from the Council and his colleagues. "The towo is really going ahead", he said, "and the public have been right behind us in all the clearing up and new projects we've started". "The council has met all my requests for equipment and this has enabled the works staff to get the job done." He wishes his successor all the best and hopes he will continue with the good work but it won't be easy with the ^new P.E.P. scheme when it comes into operation next year, he said.
The vacancy created by his vacancy has been advertised and some enquiries have been made by prospective candidates but no appointment has yet been made. Applications are invited and will be received up to and including 19 December. A fully renovated 3-bed-room house is available at a low rental for the successful candidate.
