Primary school pupils visit farm

Sixty children from Waiouru Primary School's junior department spent a day on the farm recently and had a thoroughly enjoyable time when they visited the Stubbs property (5 miles south of Waiouru) and met some of their animals. They were able to see sheep and their lambs, sows and their piglets, puppies and kittens. They were introduced to the Stubb family's pet cow and, for the more adventurous, there were rides On horseback. For the less daring there were several stationary tractors to pretend to drive

and woolsheds and mazelike stock pens to explore. Fine, warm weather meant that the picnic lunch the children had brought with them could be eaten outdoors and ensured that the children would remember their day on a farm as a pleasant and exciting experience. ^
