Racing with BULLY
Le Ana did not win the New Zealand cup, but I feel sure that those who own this fine mare, and those who backed it at Riccarton must have received a big thrill with the effort the horse gave. It was only the last 250 metres that she weakened and I feel it was a great effort, especially on a track that did not suit her, for she really likes the sting right
out of the ground. North Island horses again had a great innings at this meeting and brought home the majority of the big ones. Those of you who stuck with Bully last week are all smiles now because Extra Glance came home at odds of 34 to I and Beready only just failed to win but did pay nicely for second. Wanganui is the venue for this coming weekend and some very interesting racing should be seen. The locally trained Pirganella is working very well and I am picking him to win. Another Wanganui horse, Royal Trance could also surprise with a good showing, If Lens comes down from New Plymouth I would expect him to show the sprinters the way home.
Others in the district working well are Crucible, Carter and Charles. From the Bulls trials two who showed distinct promise were Loch Foyle from Levin and FiddlersThree. Keepan eye on these. Uf> at Auckland several to watch would be Allyn, Secrecy, Nicolove and Gay Tripper. The latter has been working in fine style at Takanini and will be remembered for some great and consistent efforts last term. The report this week from our Waikato spy tells of excellent work by Cariere, Grand Slide and Midnight Magic, so don't let them get away from you. Remember. Bully tips them first and you read it in the Bulletin.
