Racing with BULLY
Punters have had a very busy time lately, what with the Melbourne Cup Carnival, the New Zealand Trotting Cup, plus the New Zealand Galloping Cup. There will be something of a quiet period now until the Christmas and New Year meetings get under way. The exception of course will be the Avondale Cup in mid-December.
Waikato and Woodville will be racing this coming Saturday, and up at Te Rapa several to follow would be Delarene, Natural, Jimbil and Greatness. My spy in the Lower Waikato warns me to be on Dark Romance in his next couple of starts ... I am'told this is the dinkum oil from Te Awamutu. Woodville will have some interesting acceptors also with the Feilding trained Seige Perilous expected to win again. His performance on this same track recently when he won at the Pahiatua meeting was extremely good. Esterinas Ace must be very close also to saluting the judge and his track work is impressive. Malcolm Smith has a two year old
that is setting the tracks alight and he claims that this filly is the best horse he has had since La Mer. This one is Princess Izolt and is by Sir Tristam. She was purchased as a yearling from the National Yearling saies for $30,000 and has just changed hands for a handsome six-Figure amount. Not too bad for a horse who, as yet, has not been to the races. Watch also for another "royal", this time Princess Regal from Paddy Bueuttins stable, a close relation to Otemata and Nushka, both very speedy horses. A special this week at Woodville ... have a bet on Camille. Remember, Bully tips them first, and you read it in the Bulletin.
