Intersection accidents
J^Following a number of intersection accidents in Ohakune — including six claimed to have been seen on a single intersection by one witness — the council received a letter suggesting the installation of 'Stop' signs at the intersections which the writer considered dangerous. These included: Goldfinch/ Ayr (Crown Farmers corner); Rata/ Ayr (church
corner); Shannon/ Miro (convent school corner); Miro/ Clyde (hotel corner). Ohakune traffic officer Graeme; Cole who has earefully studied the traffic flows at these intersections does not think that 'Stop' signs would alleviate the problem. Instead he says that he will Step up enforcement actioii at these intersections.
