Sunday 16 October Excellent conditions for several finals saw very good scoring. G. Russell in the Senior Championships played flat with the card and proved too, strong for G. Allerby. The Intermediate Match proved quite a marathon. S. Magee, one up after 35 holes lost the, 36th but managed to get the better of B. Drinkwater on the 38th. D. Herewini in the Junior final, 3 up after 18 held that lead to the defeat of W. Taylor. The Improvers Final over 18 holes had W. Hodge in a very strong position after 9 but a good recovery on the second 9 saw P. Ennis take the title. In the Mahar Trophy N. Cranston birdied the 19th to win over B. Goile and in the McKay

Cup P. Goldfinch came out the winner over G. Bryers in anotner very close match. A par competition held in conjunction also had some excellent scoring. Senior G. Allerby and R. Sout'hee 3 up, R. Fearson 2 up. G. Allerby also scored two 2's (one on a nominated hole) to win the senior birds nest. Junior T. Frederick 7 up, C. Turner, N. Clarke, A. Berridge 4 up. R. Martin and N. Black 3 up. Two major club tournaments coming up are the Mens 72 Hole Match Flay Tourney on the 29/30 October and the Mixed Foursomes over 36 holes on 6 November.
