Senior Citizens Club News
The Raetihi Senior Citizen's Club last Week held a birthday party for one of their members — Mrs Ruby Parker who is the oldest lady member at 98 years of age. The occasion was shared by 29 members of the club who presented Mrs Parker with a specially prepared birthday cake. Raetihi's new Mayor Carrick Workman came along to wish Mrs Parker a happy birthday and children from the Raetihi Primary School sang a few songs. Secretary of the club, Mrs Betty Barrett, said that Mrs Parker was not the oldest member of the club ... that honour goes to Mr Fred Honore who is at present living in a private hospital in Wanganui. Earlier in the month Raetihi Senior Citizens entertained 48 members of the Taumarunui Senior Citizens Club for lunch and afternoon tea. The Raetihi Senior Citizens Club has nearly 40 members but would welcome enquiries from any new members ... the Club meets in the Waimarino Club on the third Wednesday in every month. Next month's 1 meeting will be the Club's ' ' AGM,
