Saturday 8 October Rain and strong winds probably kept some players away but nevertheless a reasonable field of over 40 golfers started in the AHIWaimarino 27 hole event. The wind especially at the nine hole course made play very difficult with no two's recorded on the nominated holes, but there were some good cards returned. Ladies results. 27 holes J. Martin 103 nett (Chan Trophy), B. Berridge 104. 9 holes F. Mowatt 28, E. Rush 30. 18 holes J. O'Neil 75, J. Taylor 78. Mens results 27 holes T. Geraghty 90 nett (Byford Trophy) G.W. Harvey94'/2, C. Mudgway 99, A.R. Brown and B. Goile 101. 9 holes N. Clarke 24, R. Longuet 26. 18 holes J.

Ennis 66, E. Garrett 67, two's F. Geraghty, J. Ennis, T. Geraghty (2), E. Rush, I. Strachan and B. Southee. R. Longuet with 32 gross on the AHI course won the Silver Salver. Sunday 9 October Better weather but with a team of 8 contesting the Cascade Cup at Fearce Fark (unsuccessfully) and a good number at Taumarunui playing in the Chartered Clubs Tourney only a very small fiejd played a stableford competition. Tops were G. Bryers 41, J. Martin, A.R. Brown and K. Summerhays all 38, F. Goldfinch 36. N. Cranston scored a two on a nominated hole and with another two carried off the Senior birds nest.
