Taxi stand to move?

An application has been made by Mr Sven Elfstrom of Turoa Taxis to relocate their downtown taxi stand to the Fost Office end of Clyde Street, Ohakune. The proposed site is directly opposite and on the other side of the road from the Ohakune Telephone Exchange building. Mr Elfstrom said that in requesting this site neither the parking spaces in front of the retail shops nor those in front of the public toilets

would be affected. Ohakune Borough Council decided to refer the application to the other two agencies involved before approval could be given for any changes on a state highway, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Works and Development.
