Racing with BULLY

The OtakLMaori Racing Club was most unfortunate in losing both of their days because of the extremely wet weather. On the first day, a Saturday, it made an enormous difference to the offcourse figures for the Auckland Racing Club, because punters simply transferred their investments to the Northern meeting. The fact that 2ZB broadcast all the

Auckland races "live" also helped considerably, as most punters dearly love to listen as to how their choices performed. Wellington races at Trentham this Saturday and what I think could be the bet of the day will be Fountain Court. Trained on the Trentham track, this fellow has been getting through plenty of work and impressively too. Last Auckland Cup winner, he could be in for another lucrative season. Two others who will have to be considered are Commissionaire and Beready. The former is well proven at WFA and I am sure he will carry on with it, the wonder of it being that he has not yet joined the exodus for Australia. With Jim Cassidy aboard, he

appears to have his races already sown up. Beready, trained by Marlene Todd at Hastings does not care for the track to be too wet, so when he gets conditions to suit, I suggest you open the wallet, blow away the moths and unload on him. Franklin Racing Club races- at Pukekohe and for this meeting I recommend Cahir and Call Me Stumpy. Cahir, trained at Takanini is at peak fitness at present, and while the return wi.ll probably not be a great one, it is well to remember that small fish are sweet. Call Me Stumpy is Te Aroha trained and our Waikato spy sends the word the winning polish is almost there. Remember... Bully tips them first, and you will find it in the Bulletin.
