Major stock and station agents to merge
Approval has been given by the Examiner of Trade Fractices, to the proposed merger between Dalgety N.Z. Ltd and Crown Farmers. Local farmers have expressed concern that the merger will reduce competition to their detriment. Raetihi manager of Crown Farmers, Bruce Boswell, refutes such suggestions.
"None of our clients suffered when Freeman R. Jackson merged with Newton King, nor did they suffer when Newton King merged with Crown Farmers" he said. "As far as I can see, clients will receive no less service and hopefully with the greater financial stren^^ and buying power of merged group, they'll be even better off".
