Caravans to stay
Because Ohakune is likely to be short of cheap accommodation for the 1 984 ski season, A H I Turoa have written to the Ohakune Borough Council asking to retain its. 40 remaining caravans on the Rochfort Fark site for another year. AHI Turoa manager, Tony Wright, had originally written to council in April to advise them of his intention ^f selling the 40 remaining ^■ravans and vacating the
Rochfort Fark site by 30 November this year. But in their most recent letter received last month they asked if the site would be availalbe until November 1984 and requested terms for the extended lease. Council decided to ask the Town Gerk, Colin Turner, to enter into negotiations 'similar to those already in existence. The existing agreement is on the basis of $5 p.w. per site for 70 sites for 25 weeks of the year and $5 p.w. per site for any caravans that are used beyond that 25 week period. This brings in about $9000 a year to council, said Colin Turner.
