Turoa Alpine Ski Club, (TASCI) has achieved the distinction of having one of it's members chosen for the North Island Regional Ski Racing Squad. Warren Scott, (14), of Ohakune, has been selected as one of 20 skiers who will train in the squad next year. From those 20 a racing team of 10 will be selected. Ages of the squad

members range from 14 to 19 with Warren probably being the youngest. Other TASCI members considered for a place in the squad included Dwayne Dixon, Huntly Wright and Jacyn Bramley. Another Waimarino boy, Chris Mosaed (17) of Raetihi is already a member of the New Zealand 'B' ski racing team.
