Service to community recognised
Allan and Shirley Walters were farewelled at a function organised by the Waiouru Frimary School in the Waiouru Community Centre Hall last night. The farewell followed the performance of a mini operetta "Captain Noah and his FloatingZoo" by pupils of Standards 3 and 4. Allan Walters the 'local' chemist since he arrived in Waiouru in 1971, has sold his business and is moving up to Auckland to take over another pharmacy in ■Henderson. [^During his 12 years in Waiouru Allan has been an
active member of the community having served on the School Committee for six years both as chairman and treasurer. He is also one of the original members of the Waiouru Community Advisory Committee which was formed in 1978. He has also served with Jaycees, been a member of Taihape Rotary and was appointed a Justice of the Feace 8 years ago. Mr and Mrs Walters were thanked for their considerable community involvement and service.
