National Park Community Council
Brent Piper As a ski lodge proprietor my family and myself have been living and working in National Fark for the past 17 years. I vyould like to see National Fark go ahead as a tourist and holiday area. To do this our town needs a water supply, sewerage scheme, public toilets, information board, and land to be made available for development. 1 realise all these schemes have to be handed onto the ratepayers but 1 feel our town's future depends on it. Linda Pakau-Bowring National Fark's serene locality and the abundance of recreational potential, guarantees a continual trafficking of visitors, annually. Given these factors, the future development of our community is inevitable. As a councillor I would channel my energy, knowledge, experiences and enthusiasm, into the many facets and problems related to progress. Ensuring also that' residents and ratepayers receive value for money. James Forbes As a resident of National Fark for 35 years I can offer the community the services of an experienced and successful businessman. •d'm a person with great faith ^National Fark and have, for any years. actively participated in a variety of community activities. My first priorities as your community councillor will be: 1. Continue with the channel and kerbing, footpaths and beautification ofCarrol Street. 2. Continue with rriv conviction that National Fark needs water and sewage services. 3. Fight tenaciouslv to convince every one that National Fark holds a strategic and important place as a service and tourist centre. 4. As a businessman I need no reminders that rates must be kept to a reasonable level. I will pursue with conscien■tious efforts to encourage my fellow councillors to work as a team to fulfil our common aspirations.
