Rubbish dump

It was 10pm on a cold clear night when we drove to the Ohakune rubbish dump. To my horror when the car headlights shone across the dump, all we could see was a moving mass of rats, covering every inch of evei^^ piece of rubbish. They never bothered move even when the car was driven amongst them. Is it not the council's responsibility to control this problem? Think of the disease that these rodents could carry on to neighbouring properties. Can something be done with this disgusting mess? Concerned Ohakune Resident
