Footpath alternative to short-cut
The unofficial 'walkway' that had been used by both Ohakune Primary and Ruapehu College students as a short cut between Arawa and Tainui Streets is no . longer available. A proposal had been made that this walkway along the boundary of two properti'es be formalised and developed following a recent change of lease to one of the properties. But following repre " sentations from the two property owners (Mr Vincent and Mr Weller) the proposed walkway was abandoned. Instead the Ohakune Borough Council recom mended that consideration begiventothe formationofa footpath in Tainui Street from Rangataua Road to the College, and that the matter now be placed in the hands of the Works Committee to bring forward costings to the Council for further consideration.
