Civil Defence
Mr Michael Crowley, who retired recently as Civil Defence organiser for the Waimarino, received a formal vote of thanks and expression of appreciation from the Raetihi Borough Council for his services to the community, at last month's meeting. Believed to be the only voluntary civil defence organiser in New Zealand until he retired, Mr Crowley' s vacancy has now been filled by the appointment of Mr Bully Hays.
