Colour competition results

The 'Mighty Milk' colouring competition for children that was run through the Bulletin in the first week of the school

holidays attracted good entries from local children and holidaymakers. Surprisingly though, not one entry came from

children in country areas and only one from Waiouru. Jointly sponsored by Raetihi Pasteurised Milk Supply Co. Ltd and the Waimarino Bulletin, judging was conducted by Peter Jones, manager of the Raetihi Milk Company. "It was great to be part of an activity like this for children" said Mr Jones. "I was also impressed by the imagination that went into some of the colouring." There were three prizes in each of 6 groups. Prizewinners were: Girls 10-14yrs; 1st Jackie Phillips, Raetihi. 2nd Karen Chan, Wellington. 3rd Lisa Bartlett, Ohakune.

Boys 10-14yrs;; 1st Stephen Chase, Raetihi. 2nd John Greenwood, Ohakune. 3rd Mark Peck, National Park. Girls 7-9yrs; 1st Serena Taylor, Ohakune. 2nd Kirsty Barwick, Auckland. 3rd Erin Workman, Raetihi. Boys 7-9yrs; 1st Carwyn Morgan, Ohakune. 2nd Jarrod Fraser, Ohakune. 3rd Allan Harvey, Raetihi. Girls up to 6yrs; 1st Rachel Chan, Wellington. 2nd Lee H iscox, Raetihi. 3rd Vanessa Chan, Wellington. Boys up to 6yrs; 1st Brett Barwick, Auckland. 2nd Frank Taylor, Ohakune. 3rd Robert Taylor, Ohakune.
