Alpine Village streets named

Revised names for streets in the Turoa Alpine Village have been accepted by the Ohakune Borough Council. AHI Turoa had submitted a list of names which included Turoa Drive, Alpine Crescent, Sunset Crescent, Parkland Crescent and Glacier Crescent but in keeping with Ohakune Borough policy regarding the naming of streets, AHI were asked to re-submit alternative names associated with native trees. This was done and council agreed to accept the following: Karo, Matai, Tawa and Totara but Turoa Drive will remain as it was the original road into what was at first known locally as "the 50-acre" site and is now well established.
