Waimarino Hospital News

Expenditure At last month's meeting of the Wanganui Hospital Board's Finance Committee, the chairman Mr G.W. Harvey, referred to the overexpenditure of the budget for the Waimarino Hospital at Raetihi and advised that the Principal Nurse there is now anxious for a visit from the Board's accountant to discuss possible economies.

The Board's chief executive, Mr J. Boyack said that this over expenditure, in percentage terms, on a budget of some $123,295 amounted to about 2% which could be regarded as good management. Chiropody services The Wanganui Hospital Board pediatrist is reducing the number of visits to the Waimarino Hospital from

one half-day a month to one half-day every two months. This was the recommendation made at last month's meeting of the Board's Services Committee following a report that the Waimarino workload for chiropody was low compared with Taihape Hospital, another hospital in the Board's region.
