New business - New site

The first business to set up on Raetihi's recently developed industrial area east of the township is that of John Betty Engineering which began operating from its new 1200 sq ft workshop in Station Road last Monday 22 August. John Betty, who first came to the Waimarino from Horowhenua and Napier in 1976 to work on construction of the ^®istone Samsung Mill at Karioi, has been doing

private contract for the mill and other clients for the last 3!/2-4 years. He is at present installing the new bleaching plant at the mill but sees an opportunity for extending his engineering business to provide for the local farming community and other customers wanting structural or general engineering work done. He employs two permanent and two part-time staff.
