Search abandoned but business to continue

The search for the Turner family in the Southern Alps has been finally abandoned ... at least until the thaw at the end of winter, said a spokesman for the Roy Turner Search Group at National Park last week. A memorial service will be held for Roy Turner and his family on Sunday 11 September at 2pm at the Chateau Tongariro.

A decision has been made by trustees for Roy Turners Ski Hire to continue trading as usual until the end of the current season. This will be at least until the end of October, under the direction of Miss Barbara Morris who has been managing the business since the tragic loss of its Managing Director, Roy Turner.
